Jane Austen & Company Reads Sanditon

Updated: Apr 3

The fandom around Jane Austen is a subject that has captivated both fans and scholars alike. Even today, Janeites all over the world partake in recreating the worlds of Austen's novels. Perhaps one of the most engaging novels, in this sense, is Austen's unfinished one: Sanditon.

On October 10, 2019, UNC Teaching Fellow Eddie Yang led a fascinating discussion about how the legacy of Sanditon continues to be shaped today. Together, we explored the many editions and versions of Sanditon, including the most recent ITV adaptation. Afterwards, participants had an opportunity to write their own endings to Sanditon.
