A Creative Contest for ALL
Win signed novels, gift cards, and more
for sharing your adventures in Austen’s world at home.

Characters in Jane Austen’s novels frequently play games, not only to pass the time, but also to maneuver socially, assert dominance, and manipulate understanding. Write a piece in which an Austen character or one of your own invention uses or has used playing games with others to secure a more favorable position, hide their true motives, or show their real nature.
Write a story, diary entry, or letter of no more than 500 words
Strong entries will be creative, engaging, and on topic
Winning entries will be published on our website
